Six Month Appointment

Praetorian went to the doctor on Friday for his 6 month checkup. He gained 2 pounds in the last 2 months, putting him at 15'10 and he is over 28 inches tall now. He's still in the 95th percentile for his height, but only 25th percentile for his weight. He started on greenbeans this weekend, which he does not seem to enjoy too much. It seemed like he was going to throw up the first time and now he turns his head and refuses to open his mouth as soon as he realizes what we are trying to feed him! Hopefully he will get used to the new flavors and textures.

This picture is from Thanksgiving. He had this blanket over his head. And just to update everyone - his eyes are still blue! Hopefully they will stick! :) He is a maniac on the floor now. He is making his way into each room of our downstairs - heading for the worst things first - the outlets and the stairs and could care less about all of his toys! We really have to keep our eye on this little monster. :)

Six Months Old

Praetorian turned 6 months old last Friday. Here is his 6 month picture at the beach. His new things this week include sitting up on his own for up to 30 seconds (which just started 2 nights ago) and scooting (one step closer to crawling). He also now enjoys his bath in the big tub, instead of the little bath tub, and is loving it. Very exciting stuff:)

Maryland

Last Friday, we went to Union Station in D.C. Here is a picture of Praetorian with Grandma and Grandpa Taylor enjoying the train and a family shot of the three of us at the beach.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Maryland with the Taylors'. Praetorian enjoyed his first bowl of mashed potatoes. Amazingly, he was practically perfect on the ride there and back. We loved spending time with the Taylors' and miss them already.

New Ride

Mom (Taylor) sent Praetorian this little car a couple of weeks ago. We put him on it and pushed him around (while holding onto him of course). He really liked it though and he actually understood to hold onto the steering wheel, which impressed me.

The Look

I shouldn't even post these pictures because they aren't the best, but they are just so funny. If we can't get Praetorian to smile in a picture - this is what we end up with. This almost terrified/ shocked/surprised look, always with his mouth open and his eyes wide. It's hilarious, but I have way too many pictures like this! hahaha:)

Teddy Bear

Praetorian was a Teddy Bear for his 1st Halloween. He was patient and let us take pictures, but then he was done and started trying to take the hat off. Look how cool he is in the first picture. We got him laughing in the second picture, it took some persuading though!

1st Halloween Outfit

This is the Halloween Outfit Praetorian wore to the kids' school parade. My Mom said everyone loved his outfit. He doesn't seem to mind wearing his hats, which is good since he will have to wear a hat all Winter here!

Laughing

I couldn't resist posting these two pictures. A few weeks ago, we went to a pumpkin farm with the family. We got some really good pictures of Praetorian laughing with us.

Cereal

Last month, Praetorian started eating cereal. It took him some time to get used to it, but now he gets very excited when he sees his cereal coming! He's quite the piggy too:)

Praetorian's Name

The Praetorian Guard consisted of a special force of skilled and celebrated warriors used by Roman Emporers.

Formed from the best, bravest and most loyal of his own men, the Praetorian Guard were generally exempt from any standard camp duties and saved for protecting their general. Service as a Praetorian guardsman not only offered elite status, but in many respects offered considerable benefits.

I have started this blog for family and friends to be able to watch Praetorian grow and see updates on the new things he's doing. I thought some of you might enjoy it - I hope you do!
