Update

Praetorian is now walking all of the time and is into everything and anything. The other day he was playing with my brother's lacrosse stick. David and his friend told me I should buy him a lacrosse stick to play with; they make smaller ones. So, we bought him a set this weekend and he's been playing with it nonstop since we got it. We took him to the park for the 4th of July and he loved it. We've taken him back twice since then. He loves the slides and he loved the swing for the first two minutes and then acted terrified for some reason. One of his favorite things to do is "talk" on the phone. You can see him above on top of the desk - a constant fight. We have to keep our office chair in the middle of the room or he is up there messing with the phone. He also got his first professional haircut recently - enough of Mom cutting his hair I guess. He did really well until the very end when he wanted to get down. Unfortunately I forgot my camera! But, here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

Teeth

Praetorian now has 4 teeth on top and 2 teeth on bottom. Here are some pictures to prove it. Some of these are pretty funny, I'm not sure why he keeps making these wierd faces, probably just to show off his teeth! :)

Praetorian's 1st Birthday!

Praetorian turned 1 on May 23rd and he had a great birthday. It started with a trip to the zoo with the Rivenbark's, then his first piece of cake, then opening some presents. The next day, he got more cake at the Rivenbark's and more presents. It's so hard to believe it's been a year!
He definitely got the concept of opening presents. He found a present in the living room and I came in and he was already opening it!

March, April, May 2008

The outage is finally over, well has been for a while. But, things have still been very busy at home and at work. I've finally downloaded my pictures for the last few months. Since my last post, Praetorian has turned 1 and is doing MANY new things! I'll try to summarize - walking, climbing on EVERYTHING, one top tooth is half way out and 2 more will be out shortly! Very exciting stuff. Here are some pictures from the last few months. One of the funniest things he's been doing lately is putting this bucket on his head. He even tries to walk with it on and when you look inside the bucket, he's just smiling. Hilarious.

9 Months Old

I can't believe I've gotten so far behind on this. Things have really picked up at work and I haven't had time at home to get on here. Praetorian's turned 9 months and then 10 months this past Sunday since I last posted. Here is his 9 month picture. I will have to post his 10 month picture later. Also, here is a picture of his new carseat, which makes our car feel so much smaller than we thought it was before! He seems to be happier in the car now that he is upright and can look around. His latest development is waving goodbye. He has also had some separation issues lately. He has started crying more when I drop him off in the mornings, it makes it that much harder to leave him - but, at least I know he misses me! One day, my Mom was trying to get him to wave goodbye to me. I took him for one last hug and he started waving goodbye to my Mom! He was hoping to come with me:) I guess that's it for now. The outage starts on April 21st, so there probably won't be many posts until May for those of you who actually read this! :)

Weekend with the Taylor's

The Taylor's came this past weekend. We had so much fun. On Saturday, we went to the Corning Museum of Glass, which is about 2 hours away. On Sunday, we ate breakfast out and spent the rest of the day at home. Here are some pictures from the weekend. There is one of Praetorian behind this glass thing at the museum that distorts your face - look how big his ears look and then how his head looks big and his body small.

Like Father Like Son

Chris probably wouldn't like that I am posting this, but it is too funny. Chris has always had this wierd thing where he kind of sticks his tongue out when is concentrating or focusing on something. He doesn't even realize it when he does it. I caught a picture of Chris and Praetorian both doing it this past weekend. It's amazing how these wierd quirks pass on to kids.

Praetorian and Chris

We have taken some good pictures of Chris and Praetorian recently - playing "catch" and with their matching sweaters and one where he is "standing" on his own (with help of course).

Little Boy Pajamas

The Taylor's neighbor gave Praetorian these pajamas for Christmas. We just love them, they make him look like a little boy.

1st Valentine's Day

Here is Praetorian's Valentine's Day outfit and bib.

Crawling

I forgot to mention yesterday that Praetorian has started crawling the regular way now - up on his knees. No more army crawl. :)

Screeching

Praetorian's newest thing is a screeching, borderline scream. It may have been funny at first, but I can tell you that it is getting old very fast. I can partly thank my brothers for this since they were playing a fun game of screaming back and forth with him. Although, I have to admit, I played this game with him as well. Now, he keeps "screaming" at me and waiting for me to do it back. That is fun, but it was not fun when he was doing it through the entire grocery store last night. One woman said, "He's so vocal". That was a nice way to put it, wasn't it? hahaha...Another thing that he's done for a while, but he reminded me this weekend - he loves the vacuum cleaner! I was holding him while vacuuming this weekend and he couldn't stop laughing. It was so funny. I'm glad he's not one of those scaredy babies. I wish I knew why it was so funny to him though, he is just fascinated by it. I hope he is not like that kid that I heard about who collects antique vacuum cleaners. He was like 10 years old and had an obsession with vacuume cleaners.

Standing

Here is a picture of Praetorian standing by the coffee table. And the second picture is of him in his bat outfit. :)

Laundry Basket and Toilet Paper

Praetorian has learned two new things in the past few days. His new favorite thing to do is stand (using the help of a laundry basket) and take every item of clothing out of the basket and throw it on the floor. His next new favorite thing to do is pull the toilet paper off the holder and leave it all over the floor. Cute, isn't it? hahaha...Something else he has started doing that is so sweet - Grandma Taylor gave him a photo book for Christmas. He always looks through it, which is so neat. He looks at the pictures of his Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Andy, cousin Nick, Lindsay, and Emma, and Great Grandma Jean. But, this weekend he was actually staring at Uncle Andy's picture for the longest time and then was kissing it! Now, it was the way he kisses (open mouth), but still this is how he kisses someone. We couldn't believe it. I saw it first and told Chris about it. He seemed to believe me, but when he saw it for himself, then he really believed it. It's amazing what he can remember and how he connects things.

Patricia's Birthday Weekend!

Last weekend, Praetorian and I went to Maryland with my Mom, Janmarie, and Nick for Patricia's 26th birthday. We hadn't planned on going and at the last minute I changed my mind. It was definitely worth it to see everyone, including Anna and Ella, Nancy, and Angela and Leigh. I think Patricia enjoyed us as her birthday surprise, mostly Praetorian. :) Ella and Praetorian seemed to really enjoy each other too. Ella was so sweet with him and was trying to help in any way she could. Praetorian enjoyed having someone to play with. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

8 Months Old

Praetorian turned 8 months old on January 23rd. I wasn't able to get his picture taken until this past weekend, close enough though. He wasn't very cooperative then either. He is wearing his dress-up outfit that Jan bought him for Christmas, which I forgot at Christmas. So, I thought he should wear it before it's too small. This is the best shot I could get! Just to update everyone, he is now standing up with the help of furniture. We were sitting on the couch one day a couple of weeks ago and his little head just popped up from behind the coffee table. It's still a little strange to walk into the room and see him standing. He also has started walking around the table and has even attempted to go from one piece of furniture to another. My Mom also said that this week he discovered their stairs and was trying to go up!
